Google Vs. Apple is the 2011 version of Apple vs. Microsoft. Whether anyone will admit to it or not, the two tech giants are locked in a war of cell phone domination that appears to have no end in sight. In the latest chess move, Google has just aquired Motorola Mobile for a whopping 12.5 billion in cash money. It’s a step that will now give Google control of the development of both hardware and software for it’s line of Droid smartphones, very similar to the way Apple runs the iPhone.

For the average user, this could mean a more streamlined, cleaner interface that the Androids notoriously fall short in. The frequent lags, freezing, and viruses can realistically be put to rest in the coming year as the hardware and software will no longer be made by foreign parties and then patched to work together, but rather designed in conjunction with each other, again à la iPhone.

Your move Apple.
