¡Gente! How would you like for the 2024 Olympics to be in Los Angeles? Or less cars at LAX?
Well, these are all things on Mayor Eric Garcetti’s priority list.
Garcetti outlined his priorities during a Sunday morning talk show, the Los Angeles Times reports, y “a people mover,” a bid for the 2024 Olympics and an initiative to help the film industry are all among them.
“A people mover” would be a light-rail system that would connect from the Crenshaw line to the airport while an initiative to keep the film industry in LA would mean convincing state lawmakers how money from the industry can benefit the entire state.
As far as the Olympics go, the mayor said he wants to bid for a chance to have them held in the city in the year 2024.
Garcetti said it will be known at the end of the year if L.A. would be nominated as one of the cities.
