2014 Golden Globe Awards Nominees Announced

Awards season is here! 

Time to head to the movies and see films that will make us laugh, cry, motivate us, put our lives into perspective and overall leave us saying “wow.” 

So que películas should we see this year?

How about “12 Years a Slave,” which received a total of seven Golden Globe Award nominations when they were announced early Thursday morning. 

Or “Gravity” (if you haven’t seen it yet), “Captain Phillips,” “Rush,” and “Philomena” which all join “12 Years a Slave” in the Best Motion Picture, Drama category. 

Great films are nothing without great actors and actresses, which comes to no surprise Chiwetel Ejiofor, Matthew McConaughey, Tom Hanks, Robert Redford and Idris Elba are all nominated for Best Actor in a Motion Picture, Drama. 

Among the leading ladies are Cate Blanchett, Sandra Bullock, Emma Thompson, Judi Dench and Kate Winslet who are all competing for the Best Actress in a Motion Picture, Drama award. 

Among the Latinos nominated, the one that stands out the most is Sofia Vergara who is nominated in the Best Supporting Actress in a Series, Mini-Series or TV Movie category for her work in “Modern Family.” 

The Golden Globes will be on January 12 and will air live on NBC with Tina Fey and Amy Poehler returning as hosts.
