Popstar Demi Lovato will be leading this year’s L.A. Pride Parade as grand marshal.
On Monday, it was announced que the 21-year-old has been chosen as the top escort of the annual event that celebrates the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) community.
Pero, not only will the “Neon Lights” singer be the grand marshal, she will also be going bicoastal by performing at both the L.A. and New York City LGBT Pride events.
“It’s such an honor to be a part of both L.A. and NTC Pride celebrations this year,” said Lovato in a statement. “I have been an active advocate of the LGBT community and am wholly committed to supporting individuality and being comfortable in one’s own skin.”
The singer added that she is thrilled to be a part of both events.
“They are a wonderful celebration of independence and self-confidence,” she said.
Lovato will kick things off in West Hollywood on Sunday, June 8 where over 400,000 people are expected to attend, according to the event’s website.
Luego, she will head to NYC at the end of the month.
