Actress Ellen Page has come out of the closet.
During a speech last Friday at a conference in Las Vegas, the “Juno” star broke the news to the world.
“I’m here today because I am gay,” she told the crowded room. “And because…maybe I can make a difference.”
The event was called “Time to THRIVE” and it was conference that promoted issues de la comunidad gay.
“I am tired of hiding and I am tired of lying by omission,” she added. “I suffered for years, because I was scared to be out.”
A person that she said helped her come out was Michael Sam, a football star from the University of Missouri, who also revealed he is gay last week.
Sam could possibly become the first openly gay player in the National Football League.
Page lo llamó un “hero.”
“We deserve to experience love fully, equally, without a shame and without compromise,” Page said.
