Popstar Katy Perry is now an ambassador.
On Tuesday, the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) announced that the “Roar” singer is their newest Goodwill Ambassador,
Perry’s main focus will be engaging young people to improve the lives of the world’s most vulnerable children and teens.
“Katy Perry is already a champion for children, and we look forward to hearing her ‘roar’ on behalf of UNICEF,” said UNICEF Executive Director Anthony Lake in a press release. “We are delighted that she is joining us as UNICEF’s newest Goodwill Ambassador and lending her remarkable voice to amplify the voices of children and young people around the world.”
Jóvenes podrán decirle a la singer what issues matter most to them and she will work with them to find solutions to those problems. Ella también va a ayudar a niños and teens living in poverty, affected by violence, abuse and neglect as well as help in emergency and conflict situations.
A principios de este año, Perry fue a Madagascar as part of a UNICEF mission y ayudó a los niños de ese país and has worked closely with the organization since then.
Perry joins other celebs such as Orlando Bloom, Jackie Chan, David Beckham and Susan Sarandon who have also been Goodwill Ambassadors in the past.
