La Rosca De Los Reyes Y Dia De Los Reyes Magos.

rosca

As you do your shopping at Latino Supermarkets, Expect to see this “Rosca De Reyes”. Many of you know about this very colorful looking pastry because of your parents. Our Latin heritage has many traditions and this is one very unique one. In Mexico and many parts of South America,  January 6th,  is “Dia De Los Reyes Magos”, It represents the arrival of three Wise Men  to baby Jesus’s birthplace.  The tradition of  the white figurine inside the bread represents baby Jesus hiding from King  Herods evil plan to kill all baby’s.

If you find the baby Jesus, You are required to host a party on February 2nd, Dia de La Candelaria,  it also represents that you are a very blessed person.  This is tradition in many parts of South America and Our families have brought this to America since migrating here.

Now that you know the meaning,  Are you going to get one?
