Latin music’s youth idol MALUMA surpassed 10 million followers on Instagram today, becoming the leading Latin male singer on the social media platform. In addition, the twenty-two-year-old has 18.5 million followers on Facebook and 2.4 million on Twitter.
The charismatic singer-songwriter enjoyed sold out crowds in Atlanta, Charlotte and Raleigh this past weekend at club shows in the United States, that will continue with Nashville this Thursday. The group of concerts labeled “Maluma In Your Town” are a warm up for his first official US Tour of all major North American cities planned for later this year.
But before returning to the United States, Maluma will embark on his first major tours of Mexico and Argentina which will include multiple cities in each country. A repeat of Luna Park, which he sold out on his first concert in Buenos Aires last year has already been slated for May 9th as well as his first show at Mexico City’s prestigious Auditorio Nacional on May 29th.
Maluma‘s recently-released single “El Perdedor” is quickly rising to the top of the airplay charts in Colombia, Mexico and the rest of Latin America and beginning to impact radio in the United States. The track’s video will be filmed in Los Angeles this month. “El Perdedor” is included in Maluma’s latest album Pretty Boy Dirty Boy.
