Looks like Pharrell Williams is going to need another hat for his new gig.
The singer and songwriter will be performing “Happy” at this year’s Academy Awards, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced Tuesday.
La canción, which Williams wrote and produced for the hit animated movie “Despicable Me 2,” is nominated for Best Original Song.
It will be competing against “Alone Yet Not Alone” from “Alone Yet Not Alone,” “Let It Go,” from “Frozen,” “The Moon Song,” from “Her” y “Ordinary Love” from “Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom.”
Si Williams ganá, he will be the third rapper ever to win an Oscar, siguiendo los pasos de Eminem y Three Six Mafia.
Last year, the 40-year-old released what is believed to be the first-ever 24-hour music video for the song.
