NBC’s “The Voice” has a new judge.
It is nada menos que Pharrell Williams.
The singing competition show made the announcement Monday afternoon via its Twitter account.
“Okay, we can OFFICIALLY say it! WE ARE SO #HAPPY to announce PHARRELL WILLIAMS = #NewVoiceCoach for SEASON 7,” read the tweet.
The singer, songwriter and fashion designer’s new gig comes after Cee Lo Green exited the show last month.
“It’s been a huge year for Pharrell, with recognition for his contribution in the world of music – the “Despicable Me” franchise soundtracks, his Oscar-nominated song “Happy” and his Grammy-winning collaboration with Daft Pink on the breakout dance hit “Get Lucky,” his dominance in record sales in 2014, coupled with his incomparable accomplishments in the world of fashion and design, make him an irresistible addition to “The Voice” family,” said Paul Telegdy, president of alternative and late night programing for NBC Entertainment.
However, this is not the first time Williams has appeared on the show.
During season four, he has served as a guest mentor for Usher y su equipo.
There has been no comment on behalf of Williams on his new job, pero we are sure he’s “happy” about it.
