The awards show, which was hosted by Ninel Conde and William Levy, focused heavily on the tragic situation Venezuela is currently facing.
At the beginning of the show, both hosts as viewers and those in attendance inside the American Airline Arena in Miami to take a moment to pray for the community in Venezuela.
After that, as many artists took the stage to present or receive an award, they also took time to express their thoughts and lend their support to the people of Venezuela.
One of the most touching moments of the night was when Venezuelan pop duo Chino and Nacho won the award for Best Group or Duo of the Year.
They both got up on stage, tristes and holding their country’s flag.
“Long live a Venezuela free of violence,” they said as they ended their acceptance speech.
