The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) has named Rihanna the 2014 Fashion Icon. El honor se le da cada año a personas whose style has made un tremendo impact on pop culture worldwide.
“We are proud to present Rihanna with the CFDA Fashion Icon Award for her impact on the industry as fashion’s most exciting ambassador in recent memory,” said Steven Kolb, CFDA CEO in a statement.
The singer will officially receive her award during the CFDA Fashion Awards on June 2 in New York City.
Rihanna joins other fashion icons such as Lady Gaga, Iman, Johnny Depp, Nicole Kidman y Kate Moss who have previously won the award.
